OPET, which has turned the stations into a pleasant and efficient destinations by meeting all kinds of needs of vehicles at fuel stations as well as providing non-fuel services, has started a new service regarding the cargo delivery of e-commerce shopping, which has increased during the pandemic period. With its cooperation with Kargopark, OPET provides a solution for consumers who are not at home within working hours, are not allowed to receive cargo at their workplaces, or whose sensitivity increased after the pandemic that they can easily access their packages 24/7. With the OPET Ultrakargo Project which was designed as a common cargo station, customers who use e-commerce sites are offered the opportunity to receive their cargo deliveries from OPET stations in a technological, practical and safe manner without contacting anyone.
The Scope Will Be Expanded With New Collaborations and New Locations
Smart vending machines in the stations allow consumers to receive their cargo from OPET stations with the software integration between the manufacturer and operator company Kargopark and e-commerce and cargo companies. Within the scope of the project, customers who choose the OPET Ultrakargo location that is the most suitable for them as the delivery address of their shopping from e-commerce sites can receive their package 24/7 with the password and identity information declared by the cargo company. In addition, the packages of customers who want home delivery but are not at home when the package arrives can be left at OPET points. Vending machines are produced by the manufacturer company Kargopark according to location suitability and have sections of different sizes. Vending machines securely store packages before delivery. The project, which started at 5 OPET stations in Istanbul, is aimed to expand to 150 locations in big cities such as Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, Bursa and Kocaeli very soon. In this process, Kargopark General Manager Erdal Özkan, with whom OPET developed the project together, specified that they produced the first local smart cargo cabinet in Turkey in 2015 and said "We want to combine our experience in the conditions of Turkey for 5 years with OPET quality and offer a flawless experience to the customers”.
