Opet Is Aware Of 'Women's Power', Supports Women Not Only One Day But Forever

Having made real the Women's Power project in order to raise awareness of the power of women in society, OPET is pertinaciously proceeding towards its objective of having 3500 women working at their stations by 2020. Having started out in May 2018 with the objective of employing 2 women at each station, OPET increased the number of women employees in its stations by 24 percent in 9 months. OPET, drawing attention to the importance of women's employment on every occasion, emphasized that it 'supports women not only one day but forever' with the ad they shot for thee International Women's Day (March 8).

 

OPET, the innovative and lead organization of the fuel industry, is continuing its project to ensure that women are powerful both economically and socially. OPET increased the number of the women working at its stations by 24 percent with the 'Women's Power Project' it realized in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services and İŞKUR (Turkish Employment Agency) in May 2018. The number of the women working at OPET and Sunpet stations increased to 1,906.

SPECIAL VISIT TO WOMEN BY THE PROJECT'S VOLUNTEER TEAM

Filiz Öztürk, the Board Member of OPET, who draws attention to the importance of women's employment on every occasion, is celebrating this special day on the occasion of the March 8 International Women's Day by visiting the stations where the women employees are high in number in company with the volunteer team of the project. Under the Women's Power Project, Öztürk, during her visit, will present the silver necklace, the symbol of the project specially designed for the women employees working at OPET stations . Meanwhile, the volunteer team of the project will visit the women employees at the stations and celebrate the Women's Day. “Women are successful in every aspect of the business life. We succeeded in this in an industry like fuel distribution where the services are provided mainly by men. According to the research done, it is seen that especially efficiency and profitability increase in the companies where women assume active roles. We observe that women are also very successful in jobs such as fuel sales representative, station manager, which has been perceived as male jobs so far. We believe that our project will create a significant change in society" said Filiz Öztürk, the Board Member of OPET stating that, with the Women's Power Project, they aim to draw attention to the importance of women's employment in Turkey.

AT LEAST TWO WOMEN EMPLOYEES FOR EACH OPET STATION

Operating with its more than 1600 fuel stations in Turkey, OPET aims to have at least two women employees in each station by reviewing the human resources processes in its fuel stations under the Women's Power project. OPET, providing employment opportunities for women in different positions such as grocery sales executive, station manager, shift supervisor and accounting personnel, today employs female fuel sales executive and female grocery sales executive in 72 provinces. OPET plans to employ 3500 women employees in its stations by 2020.

 

AS LONG AS WE HAVE THIS WOMEN'S POWER

OPET, broadcasting a special ad for the 8 March International Women's Day says; "OPET is aware of the Women's Power, supports women not only one day but forever!" In the ad, there are inspiring and hopeful moments of women ranging from the female athletes, scientists, artists to the women working in fuel stations. The song "Kadınım (My Woman)", which was rearranged for the ad, finds a different meaning with its powerful women stories. Having set out with the objective of having at least two women employees at each station under the Women's Power Project, OPET invites every woman to work with all their power to establish a future where they will say #BizdeBuKadınGücüVarken (As Long As We Have This Women's Power).
